We can’t do it without you!

Dear Friend,

In recent years, 1 of every 6 people in Western North Carolina used a food bank. Food banks are now feeding more people than ever before. But while in these times the demand is up, food donations are down. Our food banks need more food than ever to help feed the hungry.

The Lord’s Acre is a local Faith Garden Project providing fresh vegetables for Food For Fairview and Trinity of Fairview, our areas nonprofit food banks. We also provide to a number of other local nonprofit organizations such as a women’s shelter in Asheville, and a veteran’s association. In our first growing season, we gave 3 tons of fresh, organic produce to Food For Fairview and other agencies.

Our goal is to feed double the amount of families this year. We can’t do it without your help. Yes, you are welcome to grab a hoe and pitch in, we would love to have you! Right now, though, we are asking for your financial help. Please take time to consider the needs of hungry families and children and give generously to a project that helps people right here in our area.

The Lord’s Acre is a nonprofit (501)(C)(3) corporation originally organized and sponsored by local churches and community volunteers who have come together to help provide food for families in dire need. 100% of your tax-deductible donation will go to the needs of the garden and your neighbors in our area.

Thank you,

Pat Stone and the rest of The Lord’s Acre Board of Directors: Carol Dalton, June Grimes, Will Hamilton, Paul Horton, Joseph Malinak, Steve Norris, April Peterson, Susan & Franklin Sides, Zach Bijesse, and Zack Bolak.
