Robin MacCurdy

Robin, with a Ph.D. from Florida State University in Tallahassee, has always been a teacher and a seeker. She found a home for a few years in an alternative school in Memphis, where she could freely explore with students from 3 to 18 how children learn best and what role she could play in that learning.

She left Memphis for Western North Carolina in 1979 for the more hospitable climate of the mountains, continuing a growing interest in organic foods and healthy living.  She and her husband started a construction company, and Robin entered the world of the self-employed.  Twenty-five years as office manager and bookkeeper for the company prepared her for her current business as bookkeeper for other businesses, including Trout Lily Market in Fairview. Adding studies in the healing arts and breathwork to her ideas for healthy living, she’s also back to enjoying children and their education with her 2 grandsons, a whole new and exciting experience in her life.

Robin has loved serving as Music Director and pianist and occasional actor for FATS (Fairview Amateur Theatrical Society) since the 80′s, beginning with
Fiddler on the Roof.

New to The Lord’s Acre Board, Robin is honored to be a part of this hardworking and giving group of members, and to be a representative of the most beautiful garden she has ever seen.  The contribution of The Lord’s Acre to the Fairview community and beyond is inspiring to Robin, and she looks forward to being of service there.
